Kevin and Michele Wiens have been serving with Engineering Ministries International Canada since April 2007.
Kevin is a professional engineer who has stepped from his career in civil and municipal engineering to full-time missions, serving overseas ministries in his are of expertise. He started volunteering with eMi in 2002 by joining a team of volunteer engineers and architects for two weeks to assist in the master plan, site development and building design of an education centre in north-central Cambodia. After a few years of volunteering in various places around the world, Kevin felt God prompting him to step into full-time ministry. So, with 10 years engineering experience in Fort St. John under his belt, Kevin became a project leader and staff engineer for Engineering Ministries International Canada.
Based in Calgary, Kevin leads 2-3 eMi design teams each year to serve ministries in developing countries. Between the logistics of organizing project trips, travelling overseas, and finishing project reports, Kevin also mentors interns, recruits volunteers, and ensures that the office's administrative, financial, and IT procedures are running smoothly.
His wife, Michele, coordinates communications, including preparing newsletters and press releases and maintaining a social media and web presence for eMi.
Kevin and Michele have been married for over 15 years. They have two daughters, Talia & Kaisa.
