    Project Scope

    Introduction to Survey Practicum
    Location: Uganda Christian University, Mukono

Engaging 30 students from Civil/Environmental Engineering at Uganda Christian University.

For the fourth year running, EMI is partnering with Uganda Christian University (UCU) to deliver a two week Survey Practicum for thirty of their 3rd year Civil/Environmental Engineering students.  This Survey Practicum will compliment a theory course already delivered to these students.

Throughout the training, the EMI team will not only have an opportunity to enhance the technical capabilities of developing world design professionals but also to provide guidance in standards and ethical practices, building capacity for a world of hope.

    Geomatics Practicum
    Location: EMI Uganda, Kajjansi

Engaging 9 Geomatics Engineering students from various East African universities and technical colleges.

For the sixth year running, EMI will deliver an eight week Survey Practicum to nine Ugandan Geomatics Engineering students as part of their Industrial Training course requirement.

This survey practicum allows Ugandan students - well versed in the theory of geomatics - to build competency and confidence in the application of this theory. Students are provided with hands-on practice using a variety of survey equipment and with mentoring by a small team of EMI surveyors.

This hands-on training includes both classroom and field training and exercises, as well as a field exercises completing a topographic survey for an upcoming EMI project.

The EMI training team will share their technical skills, achieving the above while encouraging students in their faith as well as in healthy and ethical workplace practices.
