Project Scope
In Kenya, many people face numerous problems. The most regrettable is that the poor have no future hope in life. They are not sure where their next meal will come from.
To help in bringing hope to the poor, Save a Village has been introducing forest gardening to help each family start a fruit and vegetable garden. Now, to help introduce more protein into the diet, Save a Village along with the Nyangina Self Help Group hopes to take advantage of water points to build dams not only to solve inadequate water supply, but also to introduce fish farming. The regions have under-utilized low swampy land and other parcels which can be further developed. With light crop irrigation, rice, maize, sunflower and groundnuts can be produced to secure food and income security. The project will include fish farming, a rice mill, corn oil processing, an orphanage centre, and an agricultural training centre.
Will you join with Save a Village to transform these idle parcels of land, designated for community use, into productive use to improve food and income security for the poor of Nyangina?
